Thembela Mpambani

Thembela Mpambani is a visual artist from Cape Town. His work comprises a variety of media and techniques, including painting, drawing and mixed media. His body of work demonstrates a combination of creative imagination and philosophical outlook. He draws his inspiration from the artistic history of abstraction and uses that modality to propose questions around identity politics, history and the marginalised bodies in post-colonial South Africa.
